March 13, 2011Curious on this, my Ranger is gonna need some beefy steering. I just put big beefy steering on the Heep, I used 3/4 ton Chevy tie rod ends and 1.25 od tubing with .250 wall, kind of expensive, but hey now I can rock crawl by braille. Would like to do all rod ends on the Ranger.
March 14, 2011Yeah, i hear ya on the expensive part, the tube and ends and all came out to $101. Chromoly ends and 1.5" x .25" wall tubing. The ends use .75" bolts to hold it to the pitman arm and tie rod. It had better not break!

May 23, 2011looks awsome. $125.00 is not bad. I think I paid more than that for my 03 Super Duty Draglink with the Skyjacker Z-link system. I am going to have to build one from scratch for the 87 when th elive axle goes in. Awsome post.
May 23, 2011Question. when you welded in the threaded end, did you spot weld it in 4 places(then weld it all the way around.) or just one continous weld all the way around?
May 24, 2011I didnt actually weld it, a friend of mine brought it to work and did. He told me that he tacked it, reground the chamfer and then welded it all the way around.
