November 1, 2005when ur in mud which do u put ur truck in 4 lo or 4 hi? some guys i know go in 4 hi and i go in 4 lo cuz more torque but what do u guys do?
November 1, 2005ive always used 4low. it all depends on what set up your using. im running 38s and 373 gears so i dont exactly have a lot of power in 4high. and my first truck basicly had the same set up and 4high would pop out once and a while so its just habit i guess
November 2, 2005yea, if ya dont like to steer or if its a mud puddle.
I used hi before I had tires. I got boggers and needed low. just depends on gearing and power.
November 2, 2005i didnt have any problems steering in mud
and ive been in many more mud holes then that. you know if you think about it 9 times out of 10 your in ruts and you cant steer anyway.
November 2, 2005I usually run 4hi, about the only time I go 4 low is uphill.
I'll have to try 4lo.
I have a 2putt8 engine. Like 150 pounds of torque, not much.
November 2, 2005Usually 4Hi, but it does depend on your gearing. On the K5, I have 4.56 and a Detroit in the rear. Haven't tried the Avy in the mud, yet
November 2, 2005thats just my experiences with runnin in 2wd. I guess I should said that in virgin mudholes, steerings not all that great.
November 2, 20054 low......4 hi on any automatic in mud is asking for trouble.Unless your running a steep gear, and decent HP
November 2, 20052wd is fun in some spots. my buddy has some land and you need at least 38s locked in to even get into that place.
you can ask offroad ram about that one
November 2, 2005- you mean its not normal to get stuck in the first 20' of a trail - lol.
