June 26, 2005i found something that works perfect for a base for the high lift jack if you ever have problems with it sinking in the mud i used to just use a rock or a piece of wood or whatever but after you used it once it would either break or the rock would sink into the mud and youd never see it again.
my girlfriends dad is a truck driver and he gave me a old base off a trailor. like the part they crank down onto the ground to get the trailor off the truck. its about a square foot and has two handles where the bar is supposed to go through which is perfect for pulling that thing back out when it sinks into the mud. you have to cut the middle support part out of it and the jack fits perfect into it. and the edges are slightly bent up so if the jack starts to slide the edges stop it but its better then spending the money to order the offroad base thing from hilift and you can probably find one at any truck stop or repair shop.
