June 2, 2005i really dont have many stories to compare with some of the above ones. ive been stuck pleanty of times like everyone else never really stranded bad or anything.
one that ive told a few times it sucked at the time but its funny to look back on. basicly i had the urge to offroading so i get my trailor and load up my 85 s10 and head out to the local spot. i ran into a friend of mine and talked him into taking out his stock k5 and he called his brother who had a ram on 33inch boggers to come with. ill make this as short as i can. basicly we offroaded around for 2 hours no problem me and the ram were going through this swamp area, went through a few times no problems well it was getting late so i said one more time, then for some reason i got stuck where i easily made it through before. so i tell the ram to just give me a push. he pushed on the tailgate, the boggers dug down and his bumper locked on mine. so the stock k5 came into the area to to pull me out and he couldnt get up no speed, he almost got stuck we all had to push it to get out. and the truck i towed with was a k5 on bald 33s so that wasnt going to do any good. i took the trailor off my blazer and drove home 30 minutes to get my other k5 on 38s. came back and ended up getting caught by a series of about 10 trains trying to get back into the place, took about 3 1/2 hours to get back there i wasnt very happy. finially get back, i back into the swamp and hook up the ram and start pulling him hard, he aint budging then the k5 overheats. i had to park it for a few minutes. then went around to the other side pulled the s10 out one pull, pulled the ram out next with one pull, put the trailor on that truck and towed it home, it was about 12am when we finially got out of there and i was supposed to meet up with some girl for like a blind date thing at 10pm so i had alot of explaining to do
heres the before picture of the event so you can see the trucks im talking about. sure enough i brought a digital camera. snaped this one picture and the battery died and the guy brought a disposable but it was full.
heres a picture of the swamp area, this wasnt the same day but pretty close to the same spot
