When your buying Pro Comps, your actually buying COOPER TIRES, because that's wo makes them......for 4 wheel parts
4 WHEEL PARTS has a sale.......buy 3 tires get one free on any tire.........right now
October 6, 2005just steer away from the pro-craps. try discount tire. they sell a tire called the dominator sport A/T. extremely cheap, last a long time and work wasome offroad
October 11, 2005bbbbbaaaaahhhaaaaaaaa Pro Crap
the tire rack compares all tires on performance, wear, price, etc, EXCEPT PRO COMPS
October 11, 2005i'm currently running(or not running i should say since that 'charger's down) 31-10.50-15 chaparral ap's (i think they're made by cooper). they're a cheap at/mt mix it looks like. i can't say much for the toughness as far as gouging goes, but i get good traction through mud, snow, and nething else i have gone through. my only gripe with them is that they like to pick up lots of gravel. sounds like a firecracker goin off in my cab when it flies out, lol.
October 11, 2005hhhhAAAAA, I shouldn't be laughing....i've never heard of that.
The problem i had with COOPER TIRES were tire pulls....i'd waste my alignment money.
lost cause i tell ya
October 13, 2005^^^^ Not sure what that means. However we sell a crap load of Cooper Discovery ST tires. The farmers and construction guys love em. Durable, long life, quiet, work great on and off-road even under load. I am about to put a set on my toy truck.
Another tire I like alot is the BFG All Terrains. Decent price and those tires do really well on and off road, plus they wear a long time.
October 13, 2005I'd have to disagree with ProComps NOT getting cut up. Large chucks of several lugs on each tire were cut off on a run of the Miller Jeep Trail. I aired down to about 20 psi.
As for the mud, I agree that they pull pretty decently, but the lack of real side lugs keep it from doing better. For the price of the ProComps, you can get a much better tire (they also only have a 2 ply side wall). If you want a MT for dirt cheap, doesn't Wal-Mart have a Liberator MT; their AT was actually pretty decent on my K5
October 16, 2005Wow, this topic has lasted a year... Anyway, I too am looking for some decent mud tires that aren't too expensive.
October 16, 2005I have Coopers on my van, SOB's are hard compound, got a few chips in the rubber, but I've put 30,000 miles on those load E tires under my 8,000 lbs van, they look like they are at 1/2 life now, maybe a little less. I went to a site that had many comments on the Pro Comp tires, people who were in accidents because of tread seperation, the dealer and manufacture both refuse the tires failing, even when it's obvious, one had only 8,000 miles.
October 25, 2005OK i got a 98 f-150 and i am gunna buy a 6 in lift for it and i was wondering which lift was better skyjacker or fabtech and i was wondering what size tires i should get just seen if anybody new
