June 8, 2004Anybody tried or ever heard of the Aussie Lock by Torqmasters? I was lookin for a locker for my dana 44 frontend on my half ton ford and this one seems cool, and is a heck of a deal compared to a ez locker or powertrax. They say its stronger than the both, just wonderin if y'all know anything about this. The site is https://offroadlockers.com/index.html

June 8, 2004Well, I ordered it. Ended up being about 270 bucks including shipping. Costed 229 before shipping. Ill let y'all know how the installation goes and even a test or 2 on some of hawaii's best offroading places.
June 8, 2004Post some pics too.
You should checkout Peacock Flats near the Kaena Pt. tracking station. You'll have to go to the DLNR and get a camping permit. Although w/military ID, you should be able to get past the guard at the gate.
There's some nice wheeling there. Man I miss home.
June 8, 2004Heard of Kaena Pt. Me and a few of my friends went out there last weekend, but we went to the wrong side (Wainae side) and all we found was a tight, rocky trail right next to some cliffs. Had some fun. We plan to check out the north side of the point soon.
June 10, 2004I was in Maui this year. Man is HI very beautiful. If i didn't have a life back here in TN, I would've stayed there. No doubt about it.
June 10, 2004Next time you head out to Kaena Point, take the Waianae side again, but before you hit that portion against the rocky cliff (fishing spot called Moi Hole) and the beach before that (Yokohama Bay), turn right at the guard station.
That road will take you past the Kaena Point tracking station, behind Makua Valley, and up to Peacock Flats. Awesome views and wheeling throughout the trail.
Once at Peacock Flats (I think it's called Kua okala trail), you can camp there. There are many campgrounds (covered/non-covered) restrooms too.
June 15, 2004Are you talkin' about that little army installation with the big lookout tower? Cuz I saw it while I was out there and the gate was locked.
July 5, 2004Alright, got the locker installed a couple weeks ago. Dang that thing is great. I took the truck up to Kaena Point (Peacock Flats) and it sure performed in the sand where at F250 light duty got stuck twice (I had to pull it out both times). Just today, I took the truck up one of the Kapaa Quarry trails, which is designed for little jeeps and samauris, and made it all the way up to the top. Heck of a view there. I took a couple pics and will develop em and put em in my gallery soon. On the way down I had a tire hangin in the air a couple times and went through some of the most off-camber stuff I ever seen. Locker saved my butt more than once.
