February 18, 2004I have a 2000 Silverado z71, and wanted to know if there are any problems I am going to incounter if I put a 2-3 inch body lift on alone w/ the stock suspension to fit a larger tire? I would get the front/back bumper raises, but is there anything else I will realize down the road after ive began driving around on it? what would be a better heigth of the body lift, 2 or 3''. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

February 19, 2004I don't think there will be any problems. You might have to relocate the air filter if that is stock.. And the bumpers.. I have a two inch body lift on my '96 K2500, and I don't recall any other problems. I think the 4x4 lever might have sunk into the floor a little, but that can be extended easily. If you are going to use a body lift anyway, you might as well go with the three inch, but any more than that and you probably will run into problems, and it isn't too safe anyway.
February 19, 2004A good kit will give you bumper brackets to lift the bumper right along with the body you might have to extend your transmission linkage also,but it no big deal to lift it with some help..and go to a 3" body lift..
March 7, 2004i have a 3 inch on all my running rigs and they put up with alot of abuse, i have no problem with them i recomend them
March 18, 2004You won't run into any problems besides seeing more frame, and yes, the 4wd lever will sink into the floor a bit, but other than that its great.
March 22, 2004if its a manual, the shifter will also sink down a little bit. i didnt have to, but i know that sometimes youll have to grind out a new path for the knob, but thats pretty simple
March 22, 2004I put a 3 in on my Blazer the only other thing you may run into is the radiator I had to Take off the bottom half of my fan shroud, most kits come with instructions on how to set the raditor back on the frame.
March 22, 2004Is your T-Case a manual shift, or is it push button. If it's a push button, you won't have to worry about it. And do you plan on running a grill guard. I've installed truck accessories for 6 years and I don't know of any grill guard that isn't frame mounted. When you move your bumper up, the grill guard won't go on anymore. Hence, no grill guard. Everything else is cosmetic (frame horns showing, nerf bars and hitch hanging down, etc.)
March 23, 2004one other thing is the emergency brake cble! make sure the kit your interested in has the proper brake cable brakets to retain the tension so it will continue to work!
March 31, 2004There are a few things to watch. I had a problem with the radiator hitting the fan, the cluthc linkage was ****ed, and my steering didn't extend, and when i manually extended it (welded another piece in) the shaft was binding on the stock steering universal (mini box). All poblems are fixable, they can just be a pain in the ass. Even though your 4x4 shift will sink, who cares as long as it works, if not you'll have to notch the floor. Watch cables, lines and electrical. If you have a clutch be ready for fabrication. If you need an aftermarket steering shaft, definately but a borgeson.
