What motor do you have?Do you have the towing package?
Do you have a brake controller?
Your tow rate should be around 7-8000 lbs with the 350 and towing package. If that is the case then I would say you right on the money. Any more and I'd say not to do it.

A brake controller is something you buy aftermarket to use with electric trailer brakes.Once you have that wired up I would say no problem but you will be close so DON'T load up the truck.

sounds questionable the only reason i wanted to do it was to save my boss from having to buy another truck but if there is some chance that it will mess up my own personal truck ill just tell him no

Yea if it's for someone else I'd say no just because you will only have 1000 left..... you should be ok but no reason to chance it.September 21, 2003
yeah i wouldnt do it unless you really had to, i had to tow 4500lbs on a 800lb trailor with no trailor brakes and it sucks, im geared for towing and have a 350 but only had to go like 5 miles with a truck i bought. if you only have go a few miles maybe but not for a long distanceSeptember 21, 2003

I would double check your weights on your equiptment because my 773 Bobcat weights 6600# and my 16 ft trailer weights 2800# thats a total of 9400#. So I would definately verify your weights.Todd
