March 31, 2008Since this isn't a political or religious thread or a thread asking which headlights or rims to choose I am getting no help over on FTW so I thought I'd give it a try here. I recently did a SAS to my 88, although I run Superrunner radius arms my tires still rub the arms under full lock. My rims have no offset (15x10) and my tires are 37x13.5x15 Claws. I have the locks adjusted out but they still rub just a little. If I deciede to go with spacers what size, brand, where is the best place to get them, and how bad are they on ball joints?

March 31, 2008As for width, just make them the same thickness as your studs are long.
Make sure you get some that are hubcentric. I use www.wheeladapter.com, very talkative guy, uses quality materials (factory studs, not cheapo), and is QUICK with the machining. He had mine on the way same day, and i called at 5pm EST, (hes on west coast).
Sounds like you have 5" of backspacing...yes, its going to create more strain on the balljoints and wheel bearings; but many rims out there come with 3.5" backspacing, and people run them unknowing. You should be around that 3.5" all said and done. I wouldnt worry about it too much.
April 1, 2008I'm thinking I only need like a 1/4 inch spacer.
April 1, 2008Fabbed if you hang inthere i will send you my 2" spacers for $90 plus freight. they are aircraft billet aluminum. they have run with no issues (other than the tire shop stripping 7 of the studs.)
April 1, 2008Thanks but I think 2" is way to much.
April 1, 20081/4 " i would be leary about. they shorten the amount of mounting surface you have for your exisitng studs and have no way to center them selves. at least with the hub adapters like mine you know you have it centered. I am running ET lug nuts on the adapter and then regular lugs on the wheel.
April 1, 200810-4 let me know. I give you top billing on them and the price is only for those of you here on the site. other wise i will want $150.00. My new axles are 8 on 5.5 so i have to order another set for those axles.
April 1, 2008Let me do some more research on these stupid things and I'll get back to ya.....Do you have all 4 or just 2?
April 1, 2008all 4 and the lugs and Gorilla locks. got ehm for the splined lug and tool. makes it easier to install the wheel swithout messing up the wheels or spacers.
April 1, 2008here is a picture of one that i took after the tire shop screwed the studs up.
all of the damaged studs were replaced 10 out of 20.
I see stupid people.
April 1, 2008I'll take em. I only use the truck for play and I figure whith my wheels out further I'll get more mud on her. Just need to figure out a way to pay for them.
April 1, 2008no problem. they are heavy so freight is more of a issue than the price of them. when are you coming through for the concert with your brother in SA?
