Hi everyone, I am new to your folks forum. Wanted to ask you folks something. I am about to buy a new winch, as I`ve got a new truck, TJ. I`ve already watched dozens of videos and stuff, and even found a chart of options, yet cannot determine what is the best winch for TJ that won`t break the bank. I was wondering, if winches by Rugged Ridge are fine? Because I`d go with Warn, yet cannot afford a $700 winch now, and $300 is pretty much okay. Yet I do not want to invest into something that is likely to fail in a couple of month.
If you were to choose a winch that`s around $300, which one would you recommend for a TJ? Thanks
4 months agohands down.. Id think about getting something more reliable, and costly..
like a WARN winch
which is much more reliable for you.. I was getting ready to buy a Warn multi mount winch when I totaled my 4x4 in a famous creek..
some people would question why a smaller vehicle would bother getting that powerplant, but when your stuck.. more wrench strength would really help..
but I would get hitch recievers in both the front and back.. so that you can use the same winch, both in the front and in the back..
if you cant afford one, you could share it with a good muddin buddy.. or a few.. who also have recievers (probably reinforced like mine)...
