May 15, 2005Alright ladies. I was wondering if anyone has any information on tellico. Mainly camping and if even the one rated trails are for stock vehicles. I'll be going next weekend and I'll only be staying for one night and need as much info as possible before I leave. ANY AND ALL info is much appreciated. Thanks!
May 15, 2005Wow, wish i didn't just go there. You have plenty of places to camp there. Most of the campsites on the TN side are right on the main road to the ORV park. Then you have Crawfords campground on the NC side. The main road runs right through the middle of the park. There are 2 trails there that a stock vehicle can run that are not the main road. Trails 4 and 6. 4 runs through the entire park. 6 starts at the trail head where you pay and meets up with 7 and 4. 6 is marked at Moderate, but it's easier than 4 is. For some reason they have not done any maintenece to 4 so it's got a FEW hairy spots on it. I believe that 4 will take you to Fain Ford (a river crossing). You can get to it from trail 5 (which splits into 2 trails, one of which is 4). I would suggest running from 6 to 4 to 5. That right there is a good solid 4 hours of riding, and in a stock vehicle you will be WORN out. There are plenty of rocks to stack at all the places where you might be worried about. I have vids of the other weekend when I went in my stock, open differential, 'yota. I got a little body damage, but it was dark when I got the damage on trail 4...about 1/2 way out to trail 5. If you were to go from 5 to 4 to 6, I would think you would be having a lot more difficulties. Just going up Fain Ford, would be a problem for you. Coming down is MUCH easier. You might get lucky and find a group of trucks that are similar to yours that can help u out.
